Life Update

Hey guys! I’ve been wanting to do a life update for a while. We have a few big changes coming up this year. I know everyone is saying “I’m so excited for 2019!” But seriously, I am super excited to see what this year has to offer, especially looking forward to all the changes that are going to be happening. Some people may not be so excited to welcome change, but I love changing things up, even with things as small as rearranging the furniture in the house. It just feels so refreshing and motivating (at least to me!).

So first off, not that this is the most important, it’s just the first thing that will be happening. Starting February, I will be changing jobs. As much as I love my job and the people I work with, it’s been a little difficult since we had Ellie and moved a little further away. Although its only 3-4 days a week, my days are very long, and I would really love something closer to home, and that would give me an opportunity to spend more time with Ellie and our second bay girl that’s on the way. So, it’s been bitter sweet knowing that I will be leaving my job, but I am looking forward to working less hours and literally right up the street from the house! I’ll be working at our church part time. Plus, I’ll have my own desk, which has been a teeny silly dream of mine! As I look forward to this change of jobs, I can’t help but remember a little prayer I had while on maternity leave with Ellie. And that was to be able to help support our family financially but also, be able to spend more time with Ellie and the other little ones that the Lord would decide to bless us with in the future. I am so grateful that the Lord has answered my prayer in a way that I couldn’t even fathom. I get to serve His church and spend a whole lot more time with my family. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity.

With this change of jobs, the timing is just perfect as we are awaiting the arrival of our second baby girl. I’ll have a couple months to “nest” which let me tell you, it’s in full swing! And the fact that Marie Kondo has a new show on Netflix, has made me a little bit of a crazed “nester”. I am ready to go through every cabinet, cupboard, and drawer, and just get rid of stuff and reorganize everything!

**Side note: If you haven’t heard of Marie Kondo, you should definitely look her up. She has this great technique to pretty much purge all your stuff and some awesome folding techniques that save you so much space…and your sanity. I don’t follow her “guide” exactly as she does, I mainly just do her “spark joy” thing and folding techniques and that alone is awesome! So, if you’re in need of some organization I highly recommend looking her up or watching an episode of her new show to get started!

Back to life, back to reality. Sorry, couldn’t help myself! Where was I? Oh ya, so the nesting stage is in full swing with t-minus 3 months until baby arrives. She’ll be due April 20. We are so excited to welcome her into the family. We’ve been going back and forth with names, and for a while we were calling her nameless. I know, sad, but we just couldn’t decide. But I think we’ve finally decided on a name, and I’m not sure why we kept going back and forth, because it’s what we were planning on naming Ellie! Call us crazy. So, for all those who have been anxiously and patiently waiting, we’ve decided to name our next little one Eve Marie and plan to call her Evie for short. I’m so looking forward to see how Ellie will react to her and to have a brand-new little baby! I’m both excited and slightly intimidated. But that’s parenting right?

And lastly, PJ has started his seminary studies and plans to graduate with a masters of divinity. I’m am so proud of him and excited to see all the prayers and patience unfold that have led up to this point. I wanted to share a little about this, because amidst all this change regarding my new job and PJ starting school, we were getting a little anxious and worried about how this would affect us financially. We know and have seen the Lord provide for us in the past and so it’s a reminder to just trust in the Lord and that He will provide for all that we need, but as people, it’s hard not to worry when you don’t see how things are going to work out. As we were trying to plan for all this, PJ was thinking how silly of us it was that we were getting worried about finances when we were going to start dedicating more time to the church. He was like, “What makes us think that God won’t provide for us when we are going to be serving Him more?” And at that point, I was like “Ya!?, What are we worrying about?” And a few weeks later we were blessed to find out that PJ’s seminary is going to be paid for! It was such a blessing and encouragement to know that the Lord is going before us and preparing the way. I wanted to share that to give glory to God and to also encourage anyone out there that is waiting on the Lord not just in finances, but in any aspect of life. If you’re a true believer in Christ, we have nothing to worry about, because our Heavenly Father will take care of us and provide for us all that we need.

Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Thanks for reading and please keep us in your prayers as we enter into this new stage of life with many changes to come!

With love,
